Health examinations must be performed for workers employed with the Department of Transportation and are mandated in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Drivers responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles must undergo testing and physical exams that make sure that meet these standards. A DOT/CDL physical helps determine if a driver is physically, mentally, and emotionally able operate a commercial vehicle safely. The Atlanta Medical Services will coordinate all the care required to ensure commercial drivers are able to comply with the safety standards that must be adhered by the FMCSA.
